11 AI Search Visibility Tools Compared For 2026
Summarize this post with AI

The best AI visibility tracking tools for most businesses start free. Google Search Console now shows AI Overviews and AI Mode impressions for every site, Bing Webmaster Tools shows how often Copilot cites you, and GA4 shows the visits AI assistants send. Add a paid tracker only when you need to see answers in ChatGPT, Perplexity or Gemini, track competitors, or report share of voice to a client.
If you already pay for Semrush or Ahrefs, their AI add ons are the cheapest next step. If AI search is a core channel, a dedicated platform like Peec AI, Otterly.AI, Profound, Scrunch or Evertune gives more prompts, more engines and better competitor data. Below are all 11, with prices from each vendor’s own page and a cost per prompt so you can compare them fairly.
What AI Visibility Tracking Tools Actually Measure
Paid AI visibility tracking tools work the same basic way: you give them a list of prompts, they run those prompts through ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, AI Overviews and others on a schedule, and they record whether your brand is mentioned, whether your site is cited as a source, how you’re described, and which competitors show up instead. The main numbers you’ll see are:
- Visibility or mention rate: the share of answers that mention your brand
- Citation rate: the share of answers that link to your site
- Share of voice: your mentions compared with competitors across the same prompts
- Sentiment: whether the answer describes you positively, neutrally or negatively
- Source domains: which sites the AI leans on for your topic, which is where your PR and content work should go
The free reports from Google and Bing work differently. They don’t run prompts; they report what actually happened on their platforms, which makes them more reliable but narrower.
Why “AI Rank” Is The Number To Ignore
Before you compare features, know this. In a study by SparkToro and Gumshoe, about 600 volunteers ran the same 12 prompts through ChatGPT, Claude and Google’s AI nearly 3,000 times. The odds of getting the same list of brands twice were under 1 in 100, and the same list in the same order about 1 in 1,000.
What did hold up was presence: strong brands appeared in 60% to 90% of answers for a given intent even as their position moved. So judge AI visibility tracking tools on how many prompts and runs they sample, and on mention rate across them. A tool that shows you “moved from position 3 to position 2 in ChatGPT” is reporting noise.
The 3 Free AI Visibility Tools Most Lists Skip
Not all AI visibility tracking tools cost money. Set these up first; they’re the baseline every paid tool should be checked against.
1. Google Search Console: Generative AI Performance Report
Google announced the report in June 2026 and rolled it out to all websites on August 31, 2026. It shows impressions from AI Overviews, AI Mode and generative AI features in Discover, broken down by page, country, date and (for Search) device. No clicks yet, and sites with very few AI impressions may not see it.
Best for: every site. It’s the only first party data on how often Google’s AI features show your pages. Cost: free.
2. Bing Webmaster Tools: AI Performance Report
Microsoft launched AI Performance in Bing Webmaster Tools as a public preview in February 2026. It counts citations across Microsoft Copilot, Bing’s AI summaries and select partner integrations, with the pages cited, a citation trend and sample “grounding queries” the AI used to find your content. Like Google’s report, it has no click data.
Best for: seeing which pages AI actually pulls from and the phrasing behind it. Cost: free with a verified site.
3. Google Analytics 4: AI Referral Traffic
GA4 won’t tell you where you’re mentioned, but it shows the visits that result. Filter traffic sources for chatgpt.com, perplexity.ai, gemini.google.com, copilot.microsoft.com and claude.ai, and save it as a report or segment. That’s your proof that AI visibility is turning into sessions and conversions.
Best for: tying AI visibility to business results. Cost: free.

4. Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit
The AI Visibility Toolkit costs $99 a month and includes 25 prompts for prompt tracking, plus AI analysis and prompt research reports. Semrush names ChatGPT and Google AI Mode among the platforms tracked. There’s no free trial.
Best for: teams already in Semrush who want AI visibility next to their keyword data. Watch for: 25 prompts is a small sample; extra prompts cost more.
5. Ahrefs Brand Radar
Brand Radar works from an index of hundreds of millions of real prompts across AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Copilot, so you can see your mentions without writing prompts yourself. Paid Ahrefs plans include a small daily quota of custom prompts; the full AI Visibility Index is $199 a month. Claude is available through custom prompts.
Best for: market level research and competitor benchmarking from real prompt data. Watch for: checks are metered, and Claude uses more checks per update.
6. SE Visible (SE Ranking)
SE Visible tracks ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, AI Mode and AI Overviews. Plans start at $99 a month for 200 prompts, with 450 and 1,000 prompt tiers, and a 10 day free trial.
Best for: agencies and SMBs that want lots of prompts for the money. Watch for: Claude isn’t tracked yet, according to its FAQ.
Dedicated AI Visibility Platforms
7. Peec AI
Peec AI runs your prompts daily and lets you pick 3 models on self serve plans from ChatGPT, AI Mode, AI Overviews, Copilot, Gemini and Naver AI, with more on Enterprise. Starter includes 50 prompts and Pro 150, with unlimited users on every plan. Its pricing page loads prices dynamically; Peec’s own comparison pages list Starter from about €89 a month and Pro at €199.
Best for: marketing teams that want daily data and many seats. Watch for: only 3 engines on self serve plans.
8. Otterly.AI
Otterly.AI is the lowest entry price here: Lite is $29 a month for 15 prompts, Standard $189 for 100, Premium $489 for 400. Base plans cover ChatGPT, AI Overviews, Perplexity and Copilot; Gemini, AI Mode and Claude are paid add ons.
Best for: small businesses testing AI tracking on a few core prompts. Watch for: add ons raise the real price quickly.
9. Profound
Profound is built for enterprise brands: custom pricing, daily tracking, and up to 9 answer engines including ChatGPT, Perplexity, AI Mode, Gemini, Copilot, Claude, DeepSeek, AI Overviews and Exa. A free 7 day trial tracks 50 preset prompts on 3 engines.
Best for: large brands that need broad engine coverage and support. Watch for: no public price.
10. Scrunch
Scrunch Starter is 300monthtomonth(250 billed annually) with 350 custom prompts, and Growth 500(417 annually) with 700. It tracks ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, AI Mode, AI Overviews and Meta, and adds agent traffic monitoring plus a tool that serves an AI friendly version of your site. 7 day trial, no card.
Best for: mid market teams that want monitoring and site side fixes in one place. Watch for: the higher entry price.
11. Evertune
Evertune takes a statistical approach: it says it samples each prompt up to 100 times per model, across engines including ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, AI Overviews, AI Mode, Perplexity, Copilot, DeepSeek and Meta, and adds panel data on real user prompts. Pricing is by demo only.
Best for: consumer brands and agencies that need statistically solid share of voice, which suits the SparkToro findings. Watch for: the margin of error claims are the vendor’s own.

What Each Tool Really Costs Per Prompt
Sticker prices on AI visibility tracking tools hide the real difference, which is how many prompts you get. Dividing the entry price by the prompts included gives a rough cost per tracked prompt:
| Plan | Monthly price | Prompts | Per prompt |
| SE Visible Basic | $99 | 200 | About $0.50 |
| Scrunch Starter (monthly) | $300 | 350 | About $0.86 |
| Peec AI Starter | About €89 | 50 | About €1.78 |
| Otterly.AI Standard | $189 | 100 | About $1.89 |
| Otterly.AI Lite | $29 | 15 | About $1.93 |
| Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit | $99 | 25 | About $3.96 |
This isn’t the whole story. Tools differ in how often they run each prompt, how many engines each prompt covers, and whether add ons cost extra, so a cheaper prompt on 3 engines can cost more per useful answer than a dearer one on 7. Use it to shortlist, then compare the engines you actually need.
How To Choose AI Visibility Tracking Tools By Budget
$0: set up Search Console’s AI report, Bing’s AI Performance report and a GA4 AI referral segment. For many small businesses that’s enough to see whether AI search matters yet.
Under $100 a month: if you already pay for Semrush or Ahrefs, use their add on. If not, Otterly.AI Lite tests a handful of prompts, and SE Visible gives far more prompts for $99.
$100 to $500 a month: Peec AI, Otterly.AI Standard or Scrunch Starter, chosen by the engines your customers use. B2B buyers lean on ChatGPT and Copilot; local and consumer searches lean on Google’s AI features.
Enterprise: Profound or Evertune, where broad engine coverage, repeated sampling and support justify custom pricing.
Whatever you pick, build your prompt list from real customer questions, not your keyword list, and keep it stable for at least a few months so trends mean something. Our guides on how to rank on ChatGPT and getting cited in Google AI Overviews cover what to do with the data once you have it.
Mistakes That Waste Your AI Visibility Tracking Tools
- Tracking too few prompts. With answers changing on almost every run, 10 prompts won’t show a trend.
- Reporting AI position. Report mention rate and share of voice instead.
- Changing the prompt list every month. You lose the baseline.
- Ignoring the sources. The domains AI cites for your topic tell you where to earn mentions; that’s often more useful than your own score.
- Skipping the free data. Paid tools estimate; Search Console, Bing and GA4 report what happened.
- Fixing the wrong thing. A low score usually means content and authority gaps, not missing schema.

Frequently Asked Questions About AI Visibility Tracking Tools
Q1: Is There A Free AI Visibility Tracker?
Yes. Google Search Console’s generative AI report and Bing Webmaster Tools’ AI Performance report are free and use real platform data. Several paid tools also offer short free trials.
Q2: Can I Track My Rankings In ChatGPT?
You can track how often ChatGPT mentions or cites you across a set of prompts. Exact position isn’t reliable, because answers change from run to run.
Q3: How Many Prompts Should I Track?
Enough to cover your main services and buying questions, and to smooth out run to run variation. For a small business that might be 25 to 50; for a brand with many product lines, hundreds. Most AI visibility tracking tools price by prompt, so this drives cost.
Q4: Do AI Visibility Tools Show Clicks?
Mostly no. Prompt trackers show mentions and citations, and Google’s and Bing’s reports don’t include clicks yet. Use GA4 referrals for traffic.
